I'm so sorry.

1 min read

After almost a year, I wanted to continue the story of Asobitai by sketching chapter 4. But while I was working on it, I didn’t feel the joy and passion I had when I started the series. Not only that but I thought my lack of knowledge about video-game development wouldn’t be an issue or at the very least, I hope it wouldn’t. But I have arrived the point in the story where I have no idea what I’m doing. However, even if I had experience in video-game development, not being able to work on the comic full time was making me sad.

So I will no longer be continuing pages but I will still keep doing illustrations.

After getting great advice from RoninDude, I’ve come to the decision to put Asobitai on hiatus. The story didn’t get as much attention as I hoped it would. I need to concentrate more on illustrations to get a greater audience that will hopefully support my Patreon. Because if I keep continuing like this, nothing will change: Asobitai will stay on a biweekly schedule and I can post illustrations rarely.

I very much hope I’ll get some support very soon so I can continue the story of Asobitai.

You'll be seeing less illustrations here from me and more pages of Asobitai.
Reason for that is that the beginning of this webmanga is pretty slow and probably won't get much people to read it. So I'm trying to speed things up to get to the main part which will much better.

Right! It has been exactly one year since I've started my Patreon and I haven't had one single supporter. While every other artist, it seems, have loads of supporters and get at least $100 for their work. How do they do it? What am I doing wrong? I always put a link in the description of every illustration I make, there are plenty good rewards even for the a small pledge, I talk about it all the time and still nothing! It's like nobody is giving me the slightest chance. Isn’t my stuff worth at least $1? Am I not good enough? Well I can't get better if I spend most of my time at this stupid job I have to do in order to pay the bills. And it’s not like I’m not supporting anyone else: I’ve supported several artists a bunch of times. It just really sucks seeing more money going out than in. I’m not angry at anyone in particular, I’m just angry at the situation.
I really enjoy drawing. It's such a shame that I can't earn money with what I love doing. What do I have to do to get supported?!
